Lama Rigdzin Longyang (1956-2025), recognized by Kalu Rinpoche as an incarnation of Trülshik Rigdzin Lingpa, was a main Bhutanese holder of Machik Labdrön’s Chö tradition. He sustained Druk Zangri Khangmar’s community and entered parinirvana on March 14, 2025.
Tokden Tsewang Chöpel, a Bhutanese disciple of Trülshik Rigdzin Lingpa, welcomed his teacher fleeing Tibet in 1952 and offered ancestral land to establish Druk Zangri Khangmar. He later led the community of gomchen after his teacher’s passing.
A Tertön and lineage holder for Machik Labdrön’s Chö tradition, Trulshik Rigdzin Lingpa fled Central Tibet in 1952 with thirty practitioners. He founded Druk Zangri Khangmar in Bhutan, safeguarding the precious lineage from the destruction that soon engulfed Tibet.
